Beth Brooke-Marciniak of EY was highlighted in an article by CNN editor-at-large Kelly Wallace titled, “Can team sports help women crack the glass ceiling?”
The article examines the strong correlation between business success and women’s athletics, and gathers perspectives from women leaders who attribute their experience in sport as a strong factor in their current success.
In the article Marciniak states, “My message to parents is, ‘understand this: understand the importance of sport, understand the importance of sport to your daughters for their future success and try to encourage them to get through that period of social programming where society may be pressuring them to quit playing,’ ” she said.
The EY Women Athletes Business Network program – which embarks on its second year in 2016 – matches IWF members with elite female athletes who are selected for the competitive mentoring program. The program is currently active in more than a dozen countries with mentees who formerly competed at the highest levels of sport, and prominent women business leaders from the IWF membership.
Beth Brooke-Marciniak will introduce Olympic legend Donna de Varona at the 2015 IWF World Leadership Conference in Boston as de Varona is inducted into IWF’s International Hall of Fame and will make remarks at a reception for EY WABN Mentees and Mentors in a private event during the conference.
