Gloria Nantulya is the Government Senior Communications Specialist for Abt Associates. Born in Nairobi, Kenya to Ugandan parents, Gloria spent her childhood in Kenya before moving to Boston midway through her junior year of high school. Graduating shortly after her 17th birthday, she chose to take a year off when her parents moved to Switzerland, during which Gloria learned to speak French, had her first internship at a global health organization, and played club field hockey and soccer. That internship is what made her decide that global health and development was the field for her. Gloria attended Syracuse University where she was also a Division 1 field hockey player. During her time on the Syracuse University Field Hockey team, Gloria received several athletic and academic accolades, including NFHCA Division I All-Region Mideast Team honors in 2007, NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad honors during all four seasons, and was a two-time Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award recipient. She also had a Syracuse University field hockey leadership award named after her. Gloria completed her bachelor’s degree in public relations with minors in French and psychology in 2008 and her master’s degree in international relations in 2010.
