Patricia Jaworski is the subject matter expert in Maintenance Planning & Scheduling at Suncor Energy. She holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, with Minors in both Management and Mining. While achieving her Bachelor’s, Patricia was a full time varsity athlete, representing McGill University in rugby. In her final year with the program, she was named both her team’s and the conference’s Most Valuable Player as well as an All-Canadian. Following graduation, Patricia headed to Northern Alberta where she focused her work efforts on the maintenance of massive mining haul trucks and cable shovels. During this time, she satisfied the requirements to receive her Professional Engineer designation.
Patricia also took up triathlons, competing in various events in Canada, which culminated with representing her country at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, as an age group athlete. A change of role at work brought her to Calgary, Alberta, which provided an opportunity to try another sport: Australian Rules Football. Patricia then joined the provincial team, winning the National Championship in 2016 which led to an opportunity to be named to the national team. In 2017, she travelled with the national team to Australia to compete at the triennial International Cup, finishing as silver medalists. Patricia is newly involved in formally giving back to sport, and recently joined KidSport Calgary as well as Fast and Female in the capacity of Athlete Ambassador.
