Sue was Director of Strategic Programmes at the London Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. In this role she developed and managed the overall Strategic Programme approach for London 2012 and played a key role in delivery of a widely acclaimed Olympic and Paralympic Games – IOC “happy and glorious,” IPC “best Games ever.” She ran the Nations and Regions team supporting the promise of delivering a UK wide Games, Sustainability for the Games and all aspects of International Relations and Protocol.
Sue joined LOCOG after 20 years with Goldman Sachs, most recently as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for the European Special Situations Group and previously as International Treasurer for the firm. While she was there, she sponsored a number of diversity initiatives and received a Global Leadership and Diversity Award. She was also on the board of their Business School and a patron of Community Teamworks – Goldman Sachs’ programme of activities in the community. Sue studied Geography at Cambridge University and then trained as an accountant with KPMG and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Sue is passionate about allowing people to reap their full potential, as part of her portfolio she is a non-executive director with Impact International, a leading global learning and development organization and involved with a number of charities, including The Lullaby Trust and Amref Health Africa which are both focused on health. Sue enjoys keeping fit, trying new things and a sense of adventure.
