EY WABN Mentee Andrea Burk will be an on-air TV commentator for the Canadian Broadcasting Company for the 2016 Olympics in Rio, said the CBC, Canada’s official broadcaster for the 2016, 2018 and 2020 Olympic Games.
Andrea Burk is a Women’s Rugby World Cup silver medalist (2014) for Canada, a motivational speaker and a rugby TV announcer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) during the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. A member of the National Senior Women’s Rugby Team since 2009, she was a 2015 Player of the Year finalist, named to the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup Dream Team, and was awarded Rugby Canada’s Gillian Florence award, which recognizes the player who best embodies the qualities of a Canadian national team player as voted on by her teammates. Andrea’s expertise is in how teams and cultures thrive in highly competitive environments. She applies her proven strategies that made her a world-class athlete to motivate and inspire others to win in their own environments and fields. Andrea holds a Masters of Arts degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She’s a life long learner who temporarily moved to New Zealand to up her rugby game and learn from the World’s most successful rugby nation.
