The Ottawa Business Journal reports that Leadership Foundation Board Director and IWF Canada member Janice McDonald will be Startup Canada’s 2017 Ambassador for Women Entrepreneurship. McDonald is the President of This Space Works and an Alumna of the Fellows Program Class of 2011-2012.
The Ambassador for Women Entrepreneurship role has a one-year term, she will work at the intersection of government and the private sector to build awareness for issues specific to female-owned companies.
“She was our No. 1 choice,” says Startup Canada chief executive Victoria Lennox. “She’s in it for the right reasons, and she wants to see change. In addition to that, she has an amazing level of political acuity. She can interact with CEOs the same as she can interact with ministers and senior public servants, and that’s what it’s going to take in order to really advance the agenda for women entrepreneurs.” (Source, David Sali, Ottawa Business Journal)
