IWF Michigan will host the International Women’s Forum World Leadership Conference in Detroit for the first time in 2020. The IWF global Board of Directors approved IWF Michigan’s proposal at the 2016 IWF World Leadership Conference in Chicago.
IWF Michigan is comprised of approximately 100 dynamic women leaders. Their membership includes corporate executives, authors, artists, leading entrepreneurs, professionals and politicians.
World Leadership Conferences, conducted annually by the International Women’s Forum, draw women from more than 50 countries who are the world’s leading architects, advocates, catalysts, and pioneers of change – the women who are re-drawing the map for how we’ll live, work, produce, and maintain healthy communities in the coming years.
IWF Michigan President Anne Doyle, International Speaker and Author of POWERING UP: How America’s Women Achievers Become Leaders was quoted in Crain’s Detroit Business upon the announcement.
“Some of them were surprised a proposal came in from Detroit, but there were very strong allies (for Detroit) on the board,” said Doyle “… We’ve arrived in a moment in time where the world is recognizing Detroit is on the rise.”
