IWF Mexico member Dolores Beistegui, Director-General of the Papalote Children’s Museum in Mexico City, is leading advancements in kid-centered urban design through her vision for the 2017 renovation of the museum.
The winner of Mexico’s National Architecture Competition – who will construct the new Papalote – was announced to the public in early December. The rebuild will feature outdoor spaces which are an extension of the interactive exhibitions, designed to inspire the imaginations of children and adults alike.
The winning architecture firm, MX_SI + SPRB will complete the museum, scheduled to open in 2017. Don’t miss the beautiful renderings and drawing for the facility recently shared in a feature on designboom.
Last week, Beistegui brought together urban development specialists and led a forum at the museum discussing ways to build better cities for children.
IWF México members enjoyed a private tour of the current facility in November, led by Beistegui who shared the plans with her forum.
