IWF United Kingdom celebrated its silver anniversary yesterday with a special event at Newnham College at Cambridge. The event, titled Portrayed! 25 years of inspiring women, is an art exhibition which traces the history of IWF UK through portraiture.
A printed edition of the works is available for sale, and an e-book which allows you to view the actual book in digital form is available online here.
IWF UK Immediate Past President Susan Young provided the foreword for the book, writing, “I couldn’t be more delighted by what has emerged as the final tribute to IWF UK’s first quarter century. The portraiture exhibition of the women who have been at its forefront provides a unique way of illuminating the organisation’s history and exploring the qualities of women and leadership.”
The exhibition featured portraits of four of IWF UK’s founding members, as well as its first 12 chairs. The artists creating the works are a collective known as the Lots Road Group, who covered the event on their blog.
