Monette Malewski, IWF Board Director and IWF Canada member, was honored with the Andrée Coriveau Inspiration Award from the Association of Québec Women in Finance. Ms. Malewski received the award at the annual Talentueuses Awards Ceremony. The event highlighted the exceptional achievements of professional women working in the finance sector.
Under the theme Les Talentueuses en Avant!, eight women were honored for having overcome obstacles with intelligence, energy and professionalism, making their mark in the finance sector. Founded in May 2002, the Association of Québec Women in Finance is comprised of nearly 500 Québec women in the financial industries. It organizes networking, professional development and international business activities annually and provides its members with preferred access to a worldwide network of women in finance.
Monette turned a small business into the thriving venture that is now the M Bacal Group. Ms. Malewski prioritizes developing a relationship of trust with her team and clients. “The success of a family business, more than any other type of organization, is dependent on the people who create and run it. Each of their decisions contributes to the realization of their dreams and the future of their business. They make our world a better place,” said Ms. Malewski in her acceptance speech at the event.
One of the top brokers in Canada, she is frequently invited to give keynote presentations. Not only an entrepreneur, Monette is also an engaged business leader both on a professional and philanthropic level as well as an exemplary role model. She is President of the Board of Directors, Immigrant Investisseurs, IQ, member of the Board of Directors, Anges Québec Capital and President of the membership and Communication committee of CALU. Monette is an active and engaging supporter of numerous causes and is often sought after as a mentor where she provides advice, guidance and shares the importance of building relationships with trust and integrity. In 2013 Monette was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee, she was named one of Québec’s Top 20 Personalities in Diversity by MEDIAMOSAÏQUE. In 2014 she was awarded an honorary fellowship at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Monette Malewski led the fundraising for the 1999 and 2003 Global Conference’s and co-chaired the 2010 Montreal Global conference. She has been a member of IWF’s Board of Directors since 2011.
