“The more you include your stakeholders in dialogue and processes about what, why and how you or they make and act on decisions, the more likely they are to trust you. Everyone likes to feel validated, which you can do by listening to their input with the open-minded view that they will have valuable insights, possibly even better than your own ideas (i.e.: engage them!). I call this Strategic Relational Engagement™ and I’ve mapped out processes to create value through engaging people – within your enterprise and in institutions you’re trying to work with – overcome the obstacles to do that and sustain it over the long run. But, in essence, all these dimensions turn on building people’s trust through engaging them.”
