Peta-Rose Hall – who recently began her term on the International Women’s Forum Board of Directors in Chicago at the IWF World Leadership Conference – asserted the need for greater attention to Jamaicans with disabilities at a Digicel Foundation press conference in New Kingston this month.
She serves as chairperson for the Step Centre, a school for children with multiple disabilities that Digicel (Jamaica’s leading cellular provider) is rebuilding.
“What sort of society are we building? We can do much better than that. We need to do much better. This is the modern era and we do not lock away children because they have a disability, those days are gone, we need to step up,” Hall told the Jamaica Observer.
She is currently the Managing Director of BPM Financial Ltd. In her role, she designs and oversees a range of savings and investment products which include products for retirement, children, and individuals who wish to build their assets, as well as the management of pension funds, and corporate investment portfolios.
