Natural Cycle, a Sweden-based tech startup who participated in the 2017 IWF Cornerstone Conference in Stockholm, made news this week as the European Union’s first mobile app recognized as a medically approved method of birth control.
Natural Cycles was a presenter at the Digital Snack event hosted by Absolut Vodka. In a series of lightning-round presentations by tech startups, participants heard from entrepreneurs behind cutting-edge initiatives in artificial intelligence, health, environmental services, and internet access.
Natural Cycles measures a woman’s chances of pregnancy by gauging her temperature input to detect ovulation, fertility, and the stages of a cycle. The app takes into consideration a number of variables such as temperature fluctuations and cycle irregularities.
