AdLatina and Advertising Age will recognize IWF Mexico members, Lourdes Berho and Sylvia Sanchez Alcantara with the “Women to Watch” award at an event on Monday November 14th at the Torre Mayor in Mexico City. The award recognizes outstanding women in advertising, marketing and media around the world.
Sylvia Sanchez Alcantara started the first integrated marketing communications agency in Mexico: Globacom. She was formerly President of the National Advertising Association, the second woman in 90 years to hold the position. She was a member of the Board of Directors of IWF from 2004 – 2006, and served as President of IWF Mexico from 2006 – 2008. In 2003 she began to innovate in the area of “marketing to women” with her company MarketingLab. She represented Mexico as a torchbearer at the 2012 London Olympics.
Lourdes Berho has over 25 years experience in marketing communications management, publishing and tourism. Before founding Alchemia, she was VP of marketing at Banamex / Citigroup and was also General Director for Latin America of Condé Nast. In July, she was named CEO of the Mexico Tourism Board.
