Emily Glendinning serves as the Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, and Chief of Legal Operations at BAE Systems, Inc., a global defense, security, and aerospace company. She is responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to the enterprise on a variety of employment and privacy matters and serves as the co-lead of the company’s insider threat program. Her work includes counseling on employee investigations, equal employment opportunity policy, anti-discrimination and harassment matters, executive compensation, executive employment agreements, workplace diversity efforts, federal contract compliance issues, wage and hour matters, worker misclassification issues, reductions in force, employment terminations, mergers and acquisitions, ethics and privacy issues, social media policy, and employee benefits matters. Emily serves on the senior leadership teams of both the Legal organization and the Human Resources organization.

Prior to joining BAE Systems, Inc., Emily practiced law at Hogan Lovells LLP. At Hogan Lovells, she provided counseling to Fortune 500 corporations on labor and employment matters, successfully litigating a wide variety of issues in federal and state courts and before federal agencies, including employee leave, wage and hour, and discrimination claims. She began her career practicing employment law at Wiley Rein LLP.

Emily has authored numerous articles for legal publications on developments in labor and employment law, and she has been a frequent speaker on these topics for the Association of Corporate Counsel and for the Society of Human Resource Management. She is the Chair of the Board of Directors for MATHCOUNTS Foundation, an organization that promotes math in middle schools.

Emily received her B.A. from Williams College and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband and two children.
