Sheila Johnson

Sheila Johnson is Founder and CEO of the Salamander Collection, which operates luxury properties in unique destinations in the U.S. and the Caribbean, including Salamander Middleburg in Virginia, which has achieved the Forbes five-star ratings for both its accommodations and its spa. As a Partner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Sheila is the only African American woman to have ownership in three professional sports teams: the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, and the Washington Mystics. She also spearheaded the formation of WE Capital, a venture capital consortium that supports and invests in female-led enterprises. Sheila is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and is Chairman of the College of Performing Arts at The New School. The Sheila Johnson Fellowship at the Harvard Kennedy School supported a cohort of 50 fellows. She is also a board member of the Metropolitan Opera, Jackie Robinson Foundation, Simon & Schuster Publishing Advisory Board, and the PBS Foundation, as well as a committee member of the NeuroArts Blueprint: Advancing the Science of Arts, Health and Well-Being. Sheila’s memoir, Walk Through Fire, was published in September 2023.

Anna Wintour

Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue since July 1988, was named U.S. Artistic Director of Condé Nast in March 2013. Most recently, she was appointed Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast in 2020, as well as the Global Editorial Director of Vogue. At Condé Nast, Anna has been involved in philanthropic fundraising, particularly for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. She serves as an Elective Trustee of the institution and is a Founding Committee Member for the New York-Presbyterian Youth Anxiety Center. In 2017, for her service to British journalism and fashion, Anna was named Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. And in 2011, she was awarded the Légion d’Honneur by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In October 2009, President Obama appointed her to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. A powerful influence in the entertainment industry, Anna was the Co-Founder of Black Entertainment Television, served as Executive Producer of documentary and feature films, and is Founder and Chair of the Middleburg Film Festival.
